Warehouses full of art
Art has always ventured beyond the clichés. Thanks to the cooperation between 7R, a commercial real estate developer, and Anna Sobol, an outstanding artist from Krakow, warehouses have become both an inspiration for the creation of works of art as well as space in which they are exhibited.
This Thursday, on November 28, one of the warehouses at the 7R Park Kraków logistics park will transform itself into an art gallery and open up to all fans of art. Its interiors will be used to exhibit a series of visual works entitled 3x7R by Anna Sobol-Wejman, a painter and visual artist, whose works are in the collections of the National Library in Warsaw, Graphische Sammlung Albertina in Vienna, Museum of Modern Art in New York, National Gallery of Art in Washington, Minneapolis Institute of Art and Musée des Beaux-Arts in Chambéry, France.
,,The idea to create the works inspired by 7R warehouses was born during my private meeting with Anna Sobol-Wejman. Her artistic sensitivity made her interested in the new facilities emerging in the surrounding space, namely our warehouses. The urge to experience something new that could serve as a stimulus for her work prompted her to look for inspiration in the space of 7R warehouses, which she decided to add a new artistic dimension to", explained Tomasz Lubowiecki, President of the Board of 7R S.A.
The 3x7R collection, as the name implies, has three parts, each of them consists of 7 etchings.
,,7R fascinated me with its bold and unique approach to the matter that surrounds us. This approach contrasts with our industrial landscape. As a result of my fascination, 21 works were created, inspired by the conciseness of form, colours, scale, and functionality of the architectural design”, added Anna Sobol-Wejman, author of a series of visual works entitled 3x7R.
Everyone interested in art or warehouses, or both, will have the opportunity to see these unique works in the space that has become the impulse for their creation. The vernissage attended by the artist will take place on November 28, at 6.00 p.m. in a warehouse at 7R Park Kraków.
,,While warehouses are inaccessible to most people, we not only open them to visitors but also transform them into exhibition space that allows to interact with art. I am convinced that we are doing something ground-breaking”, said Tomasz Lubowiecki.
