Challenges
What challenges did we face in this project?
Scaling Pepco's Distribution Network
The chain operates in more than 4,100 locations across 18 European markets and, until now, had relied on five distribution centers—the new facility was intended to significantly expand the company’s operational capacity.
Phased rollout without any interruptions in supply
Pepco planned to take over the facility, begin receiving merchandise, and make the first deliveries to stores in strictly defined, consecutive months—the fit-out and start-up schedule had to support this.
A strategic location that supports intermodal transportation
Pepco bases its logistics on intermodal transport and last-mile deliveries directly to stores, which required a location with good access to ports, a container terminal, and road infrastructure.
Strict environmental requirements
The building had to be designed to achieve a BREEAM certification at the "Excellent" level, which required the implementation of solutions that would effectively reduce energy consumption.

How we carried out the project
The Barniewice Location as a Logistics Hub
The facility was built 2.5 km from the S6 highway, 18 km from the DTC container terminal in Gdańsk, and 4 km from Lech Wałęsa Airport, which has a cargo terminal, in close proximity to the ports of Gdańsk and Gdynia.
Phased handover of the facility according to the client's schedule
Pepco took over the building in early July 2026 to carry out finishing work and set up the team; merchandise began arriving in August, and the first deliveries to stores took place in September.
A Package of Environmental Solutions
We have installed solar panels, LED lighting with DALI control, and electric vehicle charging stations—all of which support BREEAM Excellent certification.
Infrastructure tailored to Pepco's requirements
Among other things, we have provided a separate, dedicated parking lot for employees and a space set up for the implementation of the Blue Yonder WMS system.
