7R, an investor and developer specializing in providing innovative warehouse and manufacturing spaces, is organizing the event “7R Warehouse of Art: Young Art for the Planet,” which aims to promote young artists and strengthen efforts related to environmental protection. An integral part of the initiative is the competition “Technology. Ecology. Humanity. Coexistence,” organized jointly with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.

The “7R Warehouse of Art: Young Art for the Planet” project is part of the eco-friendly approach of 7R, a developer that creates technologically advanced and eco-friendly buildings of the future, which become an integral part of their surroundings. A key element of the event is the “Technology. Ecology. People. Coexistence,” organized jointly with the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and aimed at students and graduates of that institution.

We have been providing warehouse and manufacturing space for years. We implement innovative, environmentally friendly solutions in our facilities because we believe that businesses should take responsibility for the environment. As we plan for the future of our operations, we want to listen to the younger generation.

Tomasz Lubowiecki

Founder and CEO of 7R

The competition is an opportunity to see how art can influence warehouses and how industrial spaces can inspire artists. In the competition’s title, the organizers put forward the thesis that people, technology, and ecology can coexist harmoniously. This thesis serves as inspiration for the artistic expression of the younger generation and for selecting the most interesting applied art projects centered around ideas such as respect for natural resources, human well-being, and technology that supports nature conservation.

Art must address issues that are relevant to people today. The competition should result in eco-friendly, creative solutions that meet contemporary needs while also being durable enough to serve for a long time. This is extremely important in the context of conserving the planet’s resources.

Prof. Prot Jarnuszkiewicz

Vice Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw

The competition is open to students and graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw who are under 35 years of age. The competition task is to create a design for an eco-themed applied art project in one of three categories: an ergonomic seat, a mural for a fire hydrant, or an eco-friendly 7R gadget. Entries may be submitted by April 15, 2022, via the form available at www.7rwarehouseofart.pl.

The winners of the competition will receive cash prizes, and the winning works will be showcased at the 7R Warehouse of Art: Young Art for the Planet event, which will take place at the 7R warehouse in Warsaw in the second quarter of 2022.

The winners will be selected from among the submitted entries by a jury consisting of:

  • Prof. Prot Jarnuszkiewicz – Vice Rector for External Relations and Promotion at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
  • Prof. Tomasz Milanowski – Dean of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
  • Bazyli Krasulak, Ph.D., Professor at the University – Dean of the Faculty of Interior Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
  • Magdalena Małczyńska-Umeda, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor in the Visual Communication Fundamentals Studio at the Faculty of Design, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
  • Katarzyna Dorocińska – Head of Marketing & Communications, 7R
  • Tomasz Lubowiecki – Founder and CEO of 7R
  • Łukasz Jachna – Head of Capital Markets, 7R

“7R Warehouse of Art: Young Art for the Planet” marks yet another collaboration between 7R and the art world. A previous opportunity for art and industrial interiors to intertwine was the “3x7R” print exhibition by the outstanding Kraków artist Anna Sobol-Wejman, which took place in November 2019 in a warehouse space belonging to the 7R Park Kraków logistics park in Kokotów, near Kraków.
