7R, a developer of warehouse and industrial space, has joined the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC). The company has a track record of constructing eco-friendly buildings, including the award-winning research and development center for the BWI Group, which utilizes a trigeneration system. The company is eager to share its experience and best practices in sustainable construction with the real estate market.

The Polish Green Building Council is a non-governmental organization whose mission, since 2008, has been to radically improve the design, construction, and use of buildings in Poland so that sustainable construction becomes the norm. The goal of the developer 7R is to ensure that green practices become the standard in the warehouse real estate market in Poland. Joining the ranks of leaders in green change is a natural step for the company toward supporting the industry’s pro-environmental initiatives and a declaration of its commitment to co-creating the highest-quality facilities in the Polish commercial real estate market.

At the beginning of this year, 7R became the first developer of warehouse and industrial space in the country to announce the introduction of a corporate development policy based on the principles of sustainable construction and aimed at delivering environmentally friendly buildings. A special R&D group has been established within 7R to analyze and implement new solutions and technologies that support the eco-friendly impact of buildings, as well as to analyze energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

As part of these efforts, the developer is focusing on three areas:

  • a unique approach to construction that minimizes the impact on climate change
  • environmentally friendly solutions that make use of the natural topography
  • eco-certification, which serves as a testament to the quality of the 7R project

Our modern approach to environmental sustainability and the implementation of sustainable building solutions extends beyond the construction process itself to include design elements and the creation of people-friendly spaces. We achieve these goals by leading the way in change and engaging our business partners in collaborative efforts. This is what sets us apart.

Ryszard Gretkowski

Vice President of the Board of Directors at 7R

7R has been implementing green building solutions for quite some time. One example is the design of the new BWI Group research and development center in Balice, which won an award in this year’s Prime Property Prize competition in the “Green Building” category. The trigeneration system used in this office and laboratory facility utilizes a gas turbine to generate energy for power, heating, cooling, and ventilation.
