CareBox, a modular triage unit designed as a diagnostic center for patients suspected of having a coronavirus infection, is now operational at the District Healthcare Center in Starachowice. This is the result of an aid program for Polish hospitals, which 7R was the first company to join. The developer made a donation to purchase a special container, the so-called CareBox, from JR Modular Systems. The mobile emergency room will help the Starachowice District Health Care Center resume regular operations in both outpatient specialist care and the provision of health services in hospital wards.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, on March 16, 2020, the facility in Starachowice was converted into a dedicated COVID-19 hospital. This means that only patients suspected of having coronavirus were admitted there. Efforts are currently underway to gradually restore the Starachowice PZOZ to its previous mode of operation. The return to the Starachowice facility’s original profile as a multi-specialty hospital has been divided into stages. CareBox, a modular emergency room for diagnosing patients suspected of having COVID-19, will assist in this process by ensuring isolation and, consequently, safety for both medical staff and patients presenting at the hospital with other medical conditions.
The lifting of further social restrictions is leading to a new wave of infections in the Starachowice County, resulting from gatherings of residents at family celebrations such as weddings. Recent cases of infection confirm this trend. However, we will gradually resume the operations of outpatient clinics and medical consultations in other specialties. In this situation, the mobile emergency room funded by 7R will definitely help us maintain the highest level of precaution. In this additional medical space, we will conduct diagnostics for individuals presenting with symptoms typical of COVID-19; however, the CareBox will operate independently of the facility, with a separate entrance and as a separate sanitary room. This will allow us to minimize the risk of infection among medical staff and, consequently, the potential shutdown of the entire hospital. The safety of our patients and doctors is our top priority.

CareBox is a 21-square-meter steel container. When properly equipped, it can serve as a medical station—specialized medical equipment can be installed inside. This sterile and mobile emergency room, which is easy to disinfect and transport to any location or connect to other containers, was created in response to the real needs of hospitals and public health centers.
As a developer, we understand how important it is for building users to have well-designed interiors tailored to the specific functions a given property is intended to serve. That is why we are committed to the initiative launched by JR Modular Systems, a manufacturer of sanitary modules. We support the idea of creating sterile spaces for hospitals that ensure the highest standards for medical staff and patients. We are pleased that the CareBox has already been installed at the Starachowice hospital. This additional space will serve as a mobile diagnostic station. It is worth noting that steel containers can be adapted in various ways, making the mobile emergency room a flexible, timeless, and above all, practical solution. We believe it will prove effective in the hospital’s daily operations.

The CarBox was manufactured in Zabrze, from where it was transported to Starachowice by a special truck equipped with a hydraulic crane. It is a modular structure built on a steel frame designed to provide the necessary functionalities within the smallest possible yet comfortable space. This space is divided into two zones: “for the doctor” and “for the patient.” The CareBox in Starachowice features a temporary isolation room, a swab collection station, and a doctor’s office. Adequate air circulation is ensured by mechanical supply and exhaust ventilation.
We thought that steel containers would be ideal as additional diagnostic stations outside hospital walls, which is extremely helpful during a pandemic. Thanks to our donors—the companies that have joined our initiative—CareBoxes have the opportunity to be deployed throughout Poland. We manufacture them in our own factory and deliver the finished module directly to the installation site, as was the case with the hospital in Starachowice. Since the assembly of a mobile emergency room takes only a few hours, it can be quickly adapted to meet healthcare needs. Our initiative has garnered significant interest from medical facilities across the country. The CareBox campaign is still ongoing, and our team is ready to increase production capacity, so we invite you to actively join us in helping hospitals.
