A program to assist Polish hospitals is launching, with the aim of providing modular emergency rooms, known as CareBoxes. These will serve as diagnostic stations for patients suspected of having coronavirus. The company 7R has donated funds to purchase a mobile triage station for the District Health Care Center in Starachowice and is encouraging others to support the initiative. The campaign was conceived and is being implemented by JR Modular Systems.
JR Modular Systems, a manufacturer of modular steel structures, is launching the production of mobile triage units for Polish hospitals. CareBox is a compact 15-square-meter container that can be easily converted into a medical station and combined with others to form larger structures.
We often hear that, due to a single patient’s infection, part of a hospital building is shut down and medical staff are placed under quarantine. Such situations paralyze the healthcare system. We therefore surveyed interest in a modular emergency room that would serve as a separate diagnostic space and minimize the risk of infections within the hospital. Nine medical facilities from across Poland responded. We want to help them organize their space and work as effectively as possible during this difficult period.

The modular emergency room is an additional diagnostic station designed to meet sanitation requirements, allowing for easy and frequent disinfection. The solution is being designed with the assistance of specialists: Grzegorz Buława, an architect with experience in the medical field, and Mariusz Stwora, an engineer who will ensure proper ventilation of the modules.
7R, a warehouse developer, was one of the first to decide to support the project for a mobile emergency room for hospitals.
Steel shipping containers, which are inextricably linked with warehouses and logistics, now serve an important purpose. The new mobile medical stations manufactured by JR Modular Systems will be durable and offer an alternative to the tents set up outside hospitals. Their modular design makes them easy to move, connect, and eventually repurpose. Thanks to this practical solution, hospitals will be able to continue using the containers even after the pandemic. By donating to the hospital in Starachowice, we are investing in additional, flexible medical space that can be quickly adapted to the changing needs of the situation. We encourage others to help and support this noble initiative.

JR Modular Systems will manufacture the CareBoxes at its own factory at cost and without a markup. The finished, assembled units will be transported to their destination by HDS trucks (hydraulic truck-mounted cranes) and placed on the hospital grounds. The modular emergency rooms do not require on-site assembly, so they can be put to immediate use for medical purposes upon delivery.
